The annual change in the number of merger and acquisition (M&A) deals made by a particular country can help give insight into whether a country has become more or less favorable as a place to conduct business. In 2018, Uruguay saw an increase in M&A deals by ** percent from 2017.
One thing to consider is that each country may differ greatly in the number of deals conducted, which in turn can effect the annual change. for example, Nigeria saw an increase in M&A activity of ** percent although the number of deals was actually relatively small (2017=37; 2018=47). India on the other hand saw an increase of ** percent, which in terms of numbers was an increase of nearly *** deals.
