This statistic illustrates the main factors taken into consideration when proposing a success fee percentage for a sell-side engagement according to advisors worldwide in 2018. As can be seen, most advisors on merger and acquisition (M&A) deals saw the size of the deal as the main factor behind the proposition of a success fee rate. What was somewhat more unexpected was that advisors did not consider an M&A advisor bake-off, where multiple advisors are proposing for the same deal to a seller. This leads to believe that most business owners are not shopping around enough when considering the sale of their business.
