* In this study populism is defined as a certain understanding of politics and democracy, its norms, institutions and processes. A distinguishing feature is the idea of the 鈥渢rue people鈥 on one side and the 鈥渃orrupt elite鈥 on the other. Additionally, views which are anti-establishment, anti-pluralism and pro sovereignty of the people. According to the authors of the study, all three views are supposed to be represented simultaneously to qualify as populist views. Further definitions are available in the report.
