Change figures refer to the respective number of members on December 31 of each year.
On December 31, 1990 few East German members of the central member index of the CDU were recorded, the evaluation was completed in October 1991. The figures for East Germany in 1990 (134,409) were therefore based not on the membership statistics, but on a report of the CDU government office for the second party convention of the CDU from December 14 to 17, 1991 in Dresden (page 24).
