According to the source, on December 31, 1990 there were only a few East German members registered in the Central Member Index of the CDU and registration was completed in October 1991. Therefore, figures for East-German members in 1990 (134,409) were not taken from the member statistics, but from the CDU federal office report for the second party convention of the CDU, which took place in Dresden from 14-17 December, 1991 (page 24).
