Between 1988 and 2024, the cumulative deforested area in the Brazilian Amazon surpassed 497 thousand square kilometers, of which around 35 percent occurred in the state of ±Ê²¹°ùá. Mato Grosso had the second-highest share of deforestation, at over 31 percent. It was trailed by ¸é´Ç²Ô»åô²Ô¾±²¹, with roughly 14 percent.
