Small gains were made in terms of the minority workforce in radio news in the United States between 1990 and 2024, with the percentage rising from 10.8 percent in 1990 to a projected 21.5 percent in 2024 — nearly doubling over the 34-year period. According to the most recent survey, the minority workforce in radio has increased by nearly 5 percentage points from the previous year, surpassing the previous record of 17.8 percent set in 2022.
