According to the data, the annual production value of rum and other spirits obtained by distilling fermented sugar cane products in Italy fluctuated greatly during the period under review. After steadily decreasing between 2012 and 2016, it started growing exponentially and peaked in 2019 at approximately 331.6 million euros. This figure drastically dropped in 2020 but experienced a steady increase afterwards. As of 2023, the sold production value amounted to about 305.5 million euros.
