In 2021, most of the beer sold in the Netherlands was lager. That year, the sales volume amounted to over *** million hectoliters, more than the combined sales volume of craft beer, beer mixtures and alcohol-free beer. Non-alcoholic beer however became more popular in the period surveyed here. Whereas in 2014 the sales volume amounted to roughly ** hectoliters, by 2022 this had more than tripled to approximately ** hectoliters.
