The question was posed to respondents who indicated that they drink non-alcoholic or low-alcoholic beer at least once a month. The original survey question was: "Waarom drink jij wel eens alcoholvrij/alcoholarm bier?"

Non-alcoholic beer is on the rise in the Netherlands. This statistic gives insight into the reasons for non-alcoholic and low-alcoholic beer's recent surge in popularity. Back in 2018, the main reason for people to drink non-alcoholic beer was because they needed to drive. In 2022, most respondents indicated that their appreciation of the taste of non-alcoholic beer is the main reason why they drink it. The motivation "I do not want to drink alcohol" is also a much more important factor in 2022 than it was in 2018.
