* Type 1 diabetes was defined as self-report of type 1 diabetes and current
insulin use. Respondents who self-reported other diabetes typed were
classified as having 鈥淥ther Type鈥 diabetes. All remaining cases were classified
as type 2 diabetes.
Overall crude prevalence of diagnosed diabetes = 9.44% (95% CI = 9.01鈥9.88).
Prevalence rate is the proportion of affected people in a population (in this case, with diabetes) at a specific point in time.
