This timeline provides information about the share of investments made by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Italy from 2007 to 2017. The investments, carried out in plant-, property- and equipment innovations, are expressed as a percentage of gross tangible fixed assets.
In the period 2007-2013, as a percentage of fixed assets, Italian SMEs' investments decreased gradually from 9.4 percent as of 2007, to 5.4 percent in 2013. Subsequently, the share of investments as a percentage of gross tangible fixed assets increased, reaching roughly eight percent by the end of 2017.
