Supplementary notes
The source does not provide any figures for 2019.
The source states: 鈥濼he revenue from product innovations refers to revenue generated in the year of reporting with product innovations which were introduced in the last three years. Revenue shares refer to total industry revenue (including the revenue of companies without product innovations).鈥
The source states: 鈥淪tarting from 2018, the definition of innovation was adjusted in accordance with the corrected Oslo manual from OECD and Eurostat. From 2019, the scope of the report to evaluate innovations was extended to include companies with five or more employees (subject to social security contributions and with low-wage jobs). Until 2018 only employees subject to social security contributions were included. Therefore more companies were evaluated.
According to the source, around 24,543 companies took part in 2022, of these 1,776 were automotive engineering companies. The number of participating companies from previous years may vary.
Older figures were partially retrieved from respective earlier reports.
