* Teq CO2 = tons of CO2 equivalent = the global warming potential of a greenhouse gas, calculated by equivalence with a quantity of CO2 that would have the same warming potential.
The source adds the following information:
"Source: Decree No. 2015-1491 of 19 November 2015 on national carbon budgets and the National Low Carbon Strategy (SNBC) . SNBC, published by the decree of November 19, 2015, includes cross-sectoral and sectoral recommendations to implement the transition to a low-carbon economy and, beyond the reduction of emissions on the territory, invites to reduce the footprint carbon of France. Carbon budgets, ceilings for greenhouse gas emissions in the country, define the trajectory of emission reductions in successive periods of 4 and 5 years."

Energy transition: carbon budgets set at SNBC in France 2015-2028
This graph illustrates the recommendations for the average annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across all sectors that have been set in the framework of the National Low Carbon Strategy (SNBC) in France for the period between 2015 and 2028. It can be seen that for the period from 2029 to 2033, the carbon budget for France was set at less than 300 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent.
