Athletic footwear market

Athletic shoes are very popular in China, not only because they offer various functions, but also because they are comfortable to wear on a daily basis. Thanks to its practicality, running shoes have become the most preferable type of athletic footwear among Chinese consumers. China’s athletic footwear market has a very high concentration rate, with ** leading companies occupying three fourths of the market. Of these, Nike has maintained its dominance for years.

Non-sports footwear market

The retail sales of non-sports footwear has remained stable, hovering around *** billion yuan annually. Women’s shoes constituted a significant majority of the total sales of non-sports footwear and was expected to capture even more market share in the coming years. The largest non-sports footwear brand was Belle, which was also the only one to enter the list of **leading brands in China’s footwear market.
