This statistic depicts the results of the national landmark survey about same-sex marriage law in Australia in 2017, by state. The survey that was conducted between September 13 and November 7, 2017, in total, 79.5 percent of eligible Australians took part in the survey. In total 61.6 percent of respondents voted with "Yes", compared to 38.4 percent of Australians responding with "No". The highest percentage of "Yes"-voters were observed in the Australian Capital Territory with 74 percent, compared to only 57.8 percent of supporters for the new marriage law that allows same-sex couples to get married in New South Wales.
