* The source adds the following information regarding the score's methodology: "The research began by examining thousands of cities based on UN-WTO data, focusing on the top 500 destinations according to tourist arrival numbers, which determined the final list of 100 cities. Firstly, we consulted with travel journalists (15,000) and then we examined the over-tourism level in each city. We then analyzed how welcoming each of these destinations are based on these following factors: expert opinion, port of entry, safety, happiness, English proficiency, and openness to accommodate tourists. Once we had established the raw data, we then created relative rankings for each of these factors. The final ranking was determined by creating a weighted ranking across all categories."
