The Royal Decree-Law 6/2012 created the Code of Good Practices to which, voluntarily, the credit entities and other entities that, in a professional manner, carry out the activity of granting loans or mortgages can adhere.
The mortgage debtors included in the scope of protection of this Royal Decree-law are the holders of loans or mortgage-backed loans, which are faced with difficulties to meet the payments of their loans, as the members of their family unit they do not have income derived from work or economic activities and the fees to pay exceed
50% or 40% of your income.
The regulation foresees that they may request a restructuring of their debt, a reduction of the same in order to reduce the amount of their installments or, finally,
term, deliver the house with the debt being canceled.
