Biggest start-up cities in Europe 2022, by value of investments
and* remained Europe's startup hotspots in 2022, when looking at the overall value of investment rounds in these cities. A startup is usually defined as a starting (group of) entrepreneur(s), but there are many different definitions of what makes a start-up a start-up. In most of these, the similarities include the age of the entrepreneur or company, the number of employees, the growth potential and level of innovation. The European startup scene heated up in 2021 and 2022, reaching nearly recorded investments in different cities across the continent.
