"The Global Peace Index analyses the state of peace around the world as an attempt to measure the relative position of nations peacefulness. It was launched in 2007 and updated yearly. It's elaborated by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The GPI comprises 23 indicators of the existence/absence of violence or fear of violence. The indicators were originally selected with the assistance of an international panel of independent experts in 2007 and have been reviewed by the expert panel on an annual basis.
The Indicators are divided how at peace internally and externally a country is."
The higher the index value, the higher the non-peacefulness.
Figures have been rounded. The index scores shown in the graph may slightly differ to the original three-decimal scores.
