In this study, the source analyzed behind-the-scenes roles in Brazilian audiovisual productions that had been given the Brazilian Product Certificate (CPB) in 2015 and 2016, on the basis of ANCINE's database reports (extracted on January 28, 2016 and February 1, 2017). According to the database, a total of 3,507 CPBs were issued in 2015 and 3,347 in 2016.
Figures do not include mixed roles occupied by both women and men.

The graph shows the share of females in behind-the-scenes roles (director, screenwriter, executive producer, photography director and art director) in Brazilian audiovisual productions in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, 17 percent of all directors in Brazilian audiovisual productions were women, down from 19 percent a year earlier.
