Will poultry take over as the most consumed kind of meat in France? This is the trend that seems to be taking shape in France. While pork and beef consumption are stagnating or even decreasing, poultry consumption is increasing year after year. Indeed, in 2010, million tons of poultry were consumed in France. Fourteen years later, the French consumed an additional ** tons of poultry. Over the same period, beef consumption decreased from **** million tons to ***Â million tons. As a reminder, the production of one kilogram of beef requires about * liters of water and for one kilogram of chicken, about liters of water is needed.
