The number of individuals working for coffee bars in Italy fell dramatically in over the previous month. Since the Italian government implemented a national lockdown to limit the spread of COVID-19 infections, food services had to stay close to the public between March and ***. As a result of the closures, the number of coffee bars' employees dropped from nearly *** thousand in March to around ** thousand in April. While employment figures rose during the summer, they went down again over the last months of 2020, as the country adopted new emergency restrictions due to the health crisis.
