This chart shows the degree of acceptance of public display of affection in heterosexual couples among the Italian population in 2011, sorted by macro-region. According to this statistic, around *** percent of Italians aged between 18 and 74 thought it unacceptable for a heterosexual couple to display affection in public. This view was more widespread in the South, Sicily and Sardinia, where it was shared by over percent of the population.
