The statistic shows the level of public trust in trade unions among Italians from 1997 to 2017. According to the survey, the share of Italians who trusted trade unions peaked in 2002 with ** percent of respondents, and fell in the following years to only ** percent of respondents trusting trade unions in 2016.
In Italy, there are confederal trade unions which are considered and recognized by the Italian state as relevant counterpart: Italian General Confederation of Labor (CGIL), Italian Confederation of Workers' Trade Unions (CISL) and Italian Labor Union (UIL).
