Working days lost is an index that measures the social losses directly caused by labor disputes in terms of working days, and is calculated for workplaces where labor disputes occurred for more than one working day (8 hours).
Number of days lost in labor disputes = number of striking workers during the strike × duration of the strike / length of a working day (8 hours)
A labor dispute refers to a situation where work is suspended for more than one working day (8 hours) due to a disagreement between a labor union and an employer regarding the determination of working conditions, and the union side begins to refuse to work.
Disputes unrelated to improving work conditions, such as politically motivated strikes, were excluded.
