Data were extracted from the Annual Business Survey using SIC (2007) 47.79/1 - Retail sale of antiques including antique books, in stores.
The Annual Business Survey (ABS) samples approximately 62,000 businesses in Great Britain and 10,000 in Northern Ireland to produce estimates for the total UK non-financial business economy. The source provides the following additional information: "Any reference to "businesses" relates to reporting units registered for VAT and/or PAYE on the IDBR. Some very small businesses (those without employees and with turnover below the tax threshold) will therefore be excluded".
Total revenue is defined by the source as follows: "Total sales and work done. This is calculated by adding to the value of Sales of goods produced, Goods purchased and resold without further processing, Work done and industrial services rendered and Non industrial services rendered".
