When it came to gift wishes, over a third of the surveyed Norwegians wished to receive money or gift vouchers. Most Norwegians preferred to get experiences and journeys instead of material gifts.

 Consumer electronics as Christmas gifts

    Other popular Christmas gifts in 2018 were consumer electronics. According to a survey, smart watches or smart wristbands were the most wanted consumer electronics for Christmas, named by a share of ** percent of respondents. Second came mobile phones, followed by tablets and headphones.

Christmas trade

The Christmas trade in Norway generated an increasing revenue in the period from 2010 to 2020. As of 2019, Christmas trade revenue amounted to just under ** billion Norwegian kroner. For the following year, it was supposed to grow by approximately **** billion Norwegian kroner.
