Ratio of overseas capital investment = amount of capital investment in overseas affiliates / (amount of capital investment in overseas affiliates + amount of capital investment in domestic companies) × 100.
Foreign affiliates are defined as: 1.) a foreign affiliate in which a Japanese corporation has invested capital of 10 percent or more; 2.) a foreign affiliate in which a "subsidiary," funded more than 50 percent by a Japanese corporation, has invested capital of more than 50 percent; 3.) a foreign affiliate in which a Japanese corporation and a subsidiary funded more than 5 percent by a Japanese corporation have invested capital of more than 50 percent.
