This statistic shows the results of a survey regarding the interest in long-distance bus offers in Germany in 2014, by state. Until January 1, 2013, long-distance bus lines were prohibited, as they were competition for railway transport. After the law was changed, these bus lines were allowed, even if railway lines for the routes covered already existed. Since then, the number of private long-distance bus companies in Germany has multiplied. Sixty percent of respondents from Berlin stated they were either interested in travelling with a long-distance bus or had already done so.
