In the period from 2011 to 2024, the number of organic dairy farms fluctuated in Denmark. Until 2016, it decreased constantly and amounted to *** farms in 2024. By comparison, the total number of all dairy farms in the country decreased strongly recently. As of 2024, it was down to the lowest number, of approximately *anish dairy farms.   

Organic dairy products

Of the organic dairy products produced in Denmark, the production volume of skim milk was highest. In 2023, it amounted to about **metric tons. Organic semi-skimmed milk ranked second, followed by the production volume of organic cultured milk products and whole milk.   

Import of organic dairy products

In addition to its domestic production of organic milk, cream, and other milk products, Denmark also imported some of these products. From 2012 to 2020, the import value grew overall. In 2019, the import value of organic dairy products into the country amounted to approximately ** million Danish kroner. In the following two years, the value decreased strongly to approximately ** million Danish kroner.
