Especially meat, fur and dairy products are the main agricultural items exported from Denmark. Since 2005, the number of dairy farms in Denmark decreased. While there were nearly dairy farms in that year, the number declined to about farms in 2024. 

Cows

The number of cows on farms fluctuated only slightly recently, although the number of dairy farms decreased. As of 2023, there were almost ** cows registered on farms in Denmark. Most of these were dairy cows, as the number amounted to approximately ** in this year.

 Arla Foods

Arla Foods amba produces and sells dairy products. It offers milk, milk-based products, cheese, yogurt, butter etc. The Danish company sells its products primarily under the Arla, Lurpak, Castello and Puck brands. In 2024, Arla generated a revenue of roughly *** billion euros in Denmark.
