The sample was derived from the the German speaking population older than 14 years in Germany. Singles were defined as persons who live in a one-person household.
Information about the total sample size:

2020: 23,138 respondents, projected to 70.63 million persons
Information about the target group "singles": 8,178 respondents, projection to 21.97 million persons
Information about the target group "singles younger than 50": 4,011 respondents, projection to 11.78 million persons

The survey question was asked in the following wording: "Where did you book your main vacation trip? - Which tour operator organised the booked trip?"

Citation formats

The statistic presents the results of a survey on the favorite travel agencies among singles and the total population in Germany in 2020. TUI was the most popular tour operator in all groups, although the share of TUI customers was lowest among the total group of singles. Roughly * percent of the singles younger than ** booked a Neckermann travel which ranked it second in that group. In contrast, **** percent of the total singles stated that they didn't go on holidays while ** percent organized their tour independently.
