In the first quarter of 2023, spending on visits abroad from the United Kingdom rose significantly compared to the same quarter of 2021. This figure also surpassed the outbound expenditure reported in the first quarter of 2019, prior to the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Between January and March 2023, spending on outbound visits from the UK amounted to roughly **** billion British pounds. Over the same period, visits abroad from the United Kingdom totaled around ** million.
