Pulmonary hypertension occurs when there is an increase in blood pressure in the pulmonary capillaries, pulmonary vein, or pulmonary artery causing dizziness, leg swelling, and shortness of breath along with other symptoms. The number of patients with pulmonary hypertension has increased over the provided time period. In 2004 there were people in the United Kingdom with pulmonary hypertension; this number had more than doubled by 2008 with people with pulmonary hypertension. By 2025,  individuals in the UK had pulmonary hypertension.
