In 2023, around 54.55 million people accessed the internet through their mobile phones in Thailand. In addition to that, a survey conducted in December 2023 revealed that mobile phones were the most used device for surfing the internet in Thailand, rather than laptops, desktops, and tablets.

Providers of mobile internet in Thailand

In Thailand, the mobile internet connection is provided by three mobile operators, namely AIS, Dtac, and True Move H. Advanced Info Service PCL, or AIS, provided the best 4G network coverage in the country. The mobile internet users in Thailand experienced the best streaming performance from True Move H in 2023. Mobile phones have become more than a communication device for users, especially through the widespread use of various apps that facilitate everyday activities.

The daily use of mobile apps in Thailand

One of the most used mobile apps among Thai users is social networking apps. As revealed by a study in 2023, keeping in touch with friends and family was the main reason for using social media among internet users in Thailand. They also used messaging apps, entertainment apps, and shopping apps frequently. As of December 2023, the most downloaded free app on Android in Thailand was Galaxy Gift.
