Deforestation caused by industry in Canada 2020, by sector
In 2020, nearly 22,400 hectares of land in Canada suffered deforestation due to agriculture operations. That was the largest area of deforestation caused by any sector in the North American country that year. The mining, oil and gas industry was responsible for the second-largest area of deforestation in Canada that year, at 15,144 hectares.
