From 2022 to 2023, the production volume of apples decreased substantially in Denmark. In 2022, approximately 22 thousand metric tons of apples were produced, while the production volume amounted to 13 thousand metric tons in 2023. Apples are the most widely produced fruit in the country. By comparison, pears were the second most produced fruit in that same year, with an amount of around 6.7 thousand metric tons. 

Producer price of apples 

In the period from 2012 to 2019, the producer price of apples decreased from 380 Danish kroner per 100 kilograms to 326 Danish kroner. In 2021, the price peaked at 471 Danish kroner per 100 kilograms.

 Agricultural area used 

   In 2021, the total area used for apple production in Denmark was 1,505 hectares, of which 566 hectares was organic area.
