In the year 2025, the highest portion of the Italian beer market was held by Heineken with a share of **** percent, followed by non-associated third party imports which covered **** percent of the market. Between 2010 and 2025, the per capita consumption of beer showed some fluctuations, but sank over the last few years.

A market growing rapidly

 Even though wine was still by far the most consumed alcoholic drink in the country, as data from 2015 show, Italian beer production reached one of the highest all time amounts in 2022, with **** million hectoliters produced. This increase was due to different factors such as the spread of new microbreweries.

Microbreweries in Europe

The increase in the number of microbreweries has been a trend in almost every part of the globe during the last years. In 2008, only  manufacturers operated in Europe, while 14 years later the number grew significantly to microbreweries.
