The price of theater tickets in the United Kingdom (UK) has gradually increased over the period considered. On average, theater tickets in the UK cost  British pounds in 2018, over *** pounds more than in 2017.

Ticket prices rise, audience numbers decline

The number of performances at UK theaters has increased in the past two years, although audience figures have been down. According to the same analysis of ticket sales by the UK Theatre association, the number of tickets sold declined in 2016 and 2017 before showing a small recovery in 2018. Regional theaters have especially struggled with audience numbers in recent years, and many have been forced to put up ticket prices to account for the loss. Nevertheless, average ticket prices achieved have managed to increase at a relatively stable rate overall, giving some hope for the future of national theaters.
