In 2022, the methodology used to collect the number of nursing certifications by specialty underwent a change. Consequently, the statistics presented in this table are not comparable with previous years’ outcomes.
Prior to 2019, the certification by specialty statistics included only RNs and NPs as certification recipients. Since 2019, the Canadian Nurses Association has expanded its certification program to also issue certifications to RPNs and LPNs.
