VOX audience market share grew steadily until 2007 and fluctuated afterwards, mostly declining. In 2021, the figure was *** percent. The broadcaster traces its roots back to 1991 and is mostly known for its entertainment programs and TV shows. Despite the falling audience market share, VOX was still among the leading ten TV channels in Germany. Vox gross advertising revenue, meanwhile, increased year after year, and experienced an especially large increase between 2020 and 2021, going from **** billion to about **** billion euros.

Households with TV reception

Most German households had cable or satellite TV reception as of 2021. But a gradually increasing share also had DSL-TV (IPTV). In general, the number of households in Germany with TV reception has been stable, with over **** million recorded in 2021.
