The value of multifamily real estate investment in the United States has declined since 2021 when it peaked at 344 billion U.S. dollars. Some of the main reasons for the decline in investment included the tighter lending conditions, the increase in valuations over the past years, and the soaring construction costs. In 2025, the sector attracted over 161 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for close to one third of the total commercial market.Ìý
