Lubricant trade also in decline
As a consequence of falling consumer demand, lube oil trade via tankers has also fluctuated over the past decade. In 2024, less than ** barrels per day had been imported worldwide, the lowest figure since 2016. Among one of the countries most reliant on oil product imports, India has become the leading importer of lube oils.
