The Fiat Ducato was the most common medium and heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) on the road in the United Kingdom during the second quarter of 2022. As of the second quarter of 2022, a total of 13,987 units had been registered. This was followed by the Iveco Daily and Isuzu Trucks Forward. The number of MHCVs licensed Fiat Ducato vehicles in Great Britain was at its highest in the second quarter of 2022, having increased steadily since 2000.

DAF Trucks is the most popular brand

The most popular heavy goods vehicle brand was DAF Trucks. In 2021, the Dutch manufacturing company sold approximately 11,600 vehicles on the UK market. This was nearly 6,300 units more than second-ranked Scania.

The volume of extra heavy HGVs is increasing

The number of licensed heavy goods vehicles has been slowly increasing since 2012. The growing number of vehicles with a weight of over 41 tons was particularly noticeable. In 2021, this figure amounted to approximately 131,100.
