In 2025/26, there were six trade unions in the United Kingdom that had 250,000 or more members, accounting for the majority of trade union members in this year. Of the 5.3 million trade union members, 3.7 million belonged to these largest trade unions, with just 161 belonging to the six trade unions which had fewer than 100 members.
