The contractor market

Building a house is a complicated process that involves specific knowledge. Contractors are entities appointed by clients to carry out construction works and projects. Contractors typically work in connection to sub-contractors as they tend to be lacking some of the trades required to construct an entire building in their direct employment. A contracting company can be a single, self-employed individual or a large corporation with a board of directors, supervisors, site and project managers and office staff. Most building contractors own their own companies and many of them may have also worked in the construction industry before becoming contractors.

Chinese construction contractors

The global market for construction contractors is on the rise, from over *** billion U.S. dollars in 2001 to *** billion dollars in revenue in 2019. With a revenue of over *** billion U.S. dollars, the government-owned company, China Railway Group, was ranked one of the largest construction contractors worldwide. The China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. and the China Railway Construction Corp. Ltd. were also among the leading construction contractors worldwide.
