* In the World Drug Report 2009 (United Nations publication, Sales No.
E.09.XI.12), it was estimated that the production of cannabis herb
ranged from 13,300 to 66,100 tons and the production of cannabis
resin from 2,200 to 9,900 tons. The calculations were based on the
minimum and maximum levels from reported cultivation and production,
seizures and prevalence rates. In 2011, these indicators did not
show significant changes that would justify an update of the production
estimates, taking into account the large minimum and maximum
levels.
