In order to decrease overall carbon dioxide inventories, the European Union is continuing to promote the introduction of plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles such as Nissan’s Leaf or Toyota’s Prius Plug-in Hybrid. Demand for electric cars continues to grow in many countries.
