This statistic illustrates the results of a written survey conducted by the Food Waste Reduction Alliance and the Business for Social Responsibility in 2013. Survey respondents were polled regarding the destination of food waste in the U.S. retail and wholesale sector. The survey revealed that some 13.2 percent of food waste generated by the retail and wholesale sector was donated.
